Yes! As part of EPTAHUB's service, we offer DFM feedback on all projects both before the sale and during the final tool kickoff to ensure the project is a success.
After receiving the order, one of our manufacturing engineers reviews the statement of work. A case manager is assigned, and a suitable manufacturing supplier is identified. A comprehensive DFM/PEG report is created and provided for approval. Upon approval, tooling and mold production begins. T1 samples are produced and shipped for approval. Once approved, the remaining parts are manufactured.
Quick turn molding is available for order quantities of 50 and above. We offer urethane casting and 3D printing services, which are excellent options for lower-quantity orders.

3D printing is a great process for rapid prototyping! However, prototyping with injection molding allows for a much wider range of materials, finishes, and textures that other processes do not provide. Prototyping with injection molding also paves the way for potential full-scale production in the future. You can iterate and adjust the design to fit the same process used for production quantities. Many customers start with initial prototyping using 3D printing but later switch to injection molding when preparing to scale production and bring their product to its final form.
A MUD (Master Unit Die) is a type of mold that uses a standard injection molding frame with inserts that determine the shape of the internal cavity and thus the final part. Think of it as a quick-change system similar to swapping out the head of a disposable razor. Ultimately, this type of tool helps reduce costs and lead time because most of the machining time is focused on the core and cavity work, rather than all other aspects of a more complex tooling setup. MUD tooling is often used in prototype molding applications.
